"Meeting God in Change" Visual Identity

Client: Bethel Mennonite Church

The beginning of the 2013-2014 school year brought about several changes at Bethel Mennonite Church and the pastoral team wanted to reflect on what it means to change as a church. I created a visual identity that was used during the church service, and as a web banner on the church’s website.

The image of a butterfly exploding represents the way most people feel about change—a fear of impending doom. But change can be about rebirth, renewal and hope. The blue of butterfly is a peaceful contrast against the violent explosion on the left, symbolizing the peace of God in the midst of change.
